Le Tréport is 60 or so miles northeast of the invasion beaches of World War II, in Normandy. The town, despite its chilly and overcast nature—even in midsummer—was considered something of a regional tourist spot. On a long pier in the bay I found three visitors who considered the light bright enough to don shades. I think they support the notion that sunglasses do indeed make you look cool.
