| I found this in the Mayan Ruins of Chichen Itza, Yucatan Peninsula of Eastern Mexico. This cantilever arch struck me because it was not obvious what it was from or its purpose, (the rest of it was crumbled away) and the way it was shaped like an old coffin I had seen in a horror movie. It seemed like a time passage for a human, alone and with nothing in your arms. I thought of it as seeing the unseen (our fate) and when you entered everything would change and you could not return. 1992 |
