| "This is an
important piece to me. It is an older image, I think I exposed it between
1976-1978 in California where I lived at the time. I took it in a fresh
water reservoir near Monterey. This was long before I began coloring my
images. I colored the image in 1986-87. At that time most of my experiments
in altering photography where pretty extreme, (cutting, glue, melting -
burning,) I would collage images together. This was one of my first works
that I only colored. I have produced two other larger prints of Blue, Blue
Water, they were printed and cut in half making two 20" h x 60"
wide prints on satin Cibachrome. This is a full frame glossy print and the
first time this work is in an exhibition. 1992 Print Blue, Blue Water is both spiritually and visually the root work of art inspiring the rest of this exhibit." |
