SKIN 2003 index

My recent photographic work makes an attempt to abstract the human figure. This series creates sensual abstractions of the figure that are complex and unrecognizable beyond the image as human. As the series progresses, I emphasize the details and nuances of skin textures. I capture scars, birthmarks, bumps, hair, lumps…details that are often overlooked yet make skin skin. Ultimately, I wish for the viewer to be lured into the photograph by the subtle nuances and imperfections of skin framed by the abstracted figure.
