This is a photo of Herman Leonard, dean of the Jazz photographers. He is posed in front of his photo of Dizzy Gillespie in New York City in 1948. Herman and Dizzy #3 is part of a series of photographs entitled One Plus One/Significant Other, which is comprised of photos of couples, people and their pets, musicians and their instruments, bikers and their Harleys, etc., etc., etc. Herman is holding the camera he used to make many of his signature photographs, including the one of Dizzy behind him.
