Any fancier of dog tales knows the story of Greyfriars Bobby, the fiercely loyal Skye terrier who slept every night for 14 years on his master’s grave in Greyfriars Churchyard. Bobby was also said to have visited his master’s old pub at lunchtime every day. I didn’t have the luck to encounter a Skye terrier. But I did have the good fortune to find a collie in attendance and a wonderfully atmospheric fog.
