I was assigned by the picture agency I worked for to cover the Ringling Brothers' Circus when it opened at Madison Square Garden. Marlene Dietrich was the Ringmaster and riding on top of a car. I, along with many other photographers, snapped her. I was surprised, years later when I appeared in newsreel coverage in a documentary film about her.
