During my journey to the South of France to cover a music festival, I saw two children playing on the steps of their home behind flowerpots. Suddenly, the little, old woman appeared in the doorway and not knowing what to say in French, I gestured to the kids to get down. I took my picture and after my return to the U.S., discovered the children peeking through the pots and watching me. LIFE Magazine bought the photo for their Miscellany Page.
