A recent graphic design school graduate and intermediate-level
photographer, I am an odd hybrid. Drawn to the glitz and glamour of fashion,
I design clothing and work in hair and makeup whenever I can. A passion
which leaves me seriously pondering a "commercial" career in
fashion photography. However, the free spirit in me, along with a tremendous
appreciation and passion for the fine arts, dangles the possibility and
drama of life as a "starving artist." I am constantly being
told by fine artists that my work is "too commercial". And in
turn, commercial photographers say my work is "too fine art".
Which has left me with an interesting and sometimes daunting decision.
Never one to settle (conformity gives me an awful rash), I've begun my
journey as an artist by cross-pollinating these two genres.
