The images and objects I create in oil media and
cast bronze embody my sense of wonder about the physical and non-physical
realities we create for ourselves. I re-invent the body as a metaphor
for the human conflict between external reality and personal, internal
beliefs. My paintings and sculptures express my life experiences (real
and imaginary) through color, light, form and movement. My art is an honest
offering of kinship to my viewer/participant: an invitation to explore
infinite worlds within and without the physical self.
I research goddess imagery and ancient mythology in order to discover
cultural references for my artistic vision. Phallacy expresses false perceptions:
unrealistic expectations, stereotypes, and male-female roles within the
context of cultural and personal myth.
