SKIN 2003 part 2 index

This little painting is from a series of dolls and doll-like objects. The armless doll was something my Gramma picked up long ago at a yard sale. Gramma was an avid yard sale shopper. Once upon a time the doll's arms were attached. I think she looks more interesting this way, as a sort of a childlike Venus de Milo figure. I like the smooth shape of her bisque body and the fluffiness of her hair. Her nakedness & armlessness is also rather disturbing, which is what prompted me to paint her in the first place.
