In my photography, it is important for me to get
below the visible surface. I look for opportunities for self-expression
and learning more about myself, and my best work is when I make a connection
with my subject, forming a collaborative relationship. "Corner and
Window" is one of a series of nude photographs that came from such
a collaborative effort.
I would rather my work elicits a "negative"
reaction than no reaction at all. This could be the new standard of judgement:
a reliance on response (pleasure, aversion, et cetera) rather than on
supposedly transcending truths.
