SKIN 2003 index |
Like many artists, Ive always been intrigued by the human figure. My images are created out of admiration for women and portray their beauty in an anonymous, dignified manner. Im interested in conveying the vague feeling of a dream or the distant, faint memory of something that happened long ago, a sense of timelessness, as if the image always existed and thus didnt need to be created in my time. Though I love a fine black and white print, in my own work Im happier when Im able to manipulate the image with painterly effects. Sometimes I mimic the effects of alternate prints or include the artifacts of the photographic process. |
