Like many artists, I’ve always been intrigued by the human figure. My images are created out of admiration for women and portray their beauty in an anonymous, dignified manner. I’m interested in conveying the vague feeling of a dream or the distant, faint memory of something that happened long ago, a sense of timelessness, as if the image always existed and thus didn’t need to be created in my time. Though I love a fine black and white print, in my own work I’m happier when I’m able to manipulate the image with painterly effects. Sometimes I mimic the effects of alternate prints or include the artifacts of the photographic process.
