There is something about the portraiture and figure
work of early theatre, clelebrity, fashion, and even glamour photographers
that I find irresistably intriguing. Those pictures hold a spiritual romanticism,
a rare and even religious beauty, which sadly, seems all but completely
lost in their modern equivalents.
Upon initially encountering my photographs one might
typically conclude or even take for granted that they are vintage or old
photographs. However it is not my mission to fool anyone, nor am I attempting
to replicate works from bygone eras. I employ visual formulas and techniques
to explore an aesthetic in which elements of purity, innocence, grace,
dignity, and wholesomeness are central components to portraiture that
expresses inner beauty as an ideal.
