The Nood
While in art school, I enrolled in a few figure study courses. I discovered
underlying social and psychological themes provoked by the presence of
a live nude model. Open examination of these ideas was strongly discouraged
in class. Similar issues were likewise dismissed in art history classes.
But I continue to ponder the often seedy unaesthetic issues enveloping
the nude, both in the art world and in cultures of all sorts. The Nood
in their various forms are a culmination of my thoughts.
